Fishermen Rumble

Yesterday a large group of fishermen from El Golfo came to Desemboque and tried to muscle there way in..nearly came to blows until marines came and forced them to leave.They headed south to see if Lobos with let them fish.Then Today a group of fishermen from Penasco came to both fish Camps near Santo Tomas and tried to move in...did not work but this is a bad sign.They get paid not to fish up north and still come our way to continue their bad practices.

Cholla Bay finally OUTLAWED all the pangas.... heard only 10 licenses were issued for panga fishermen in LA CHOLLA. Good news for LUCKY CHUCKY

Yeah, I heard they are all in Lobos

I wondered what happened to all of them. Why is that good news for Lucky Chucky?

Get ready for a shock when you see all them in lobos area . The cartel is shrimping illegally with impunity out of Desemboque... They did a ISIS style takeover of the town

They were set up in the first Estuary setting gill nets.

There were a bunch of them out in full force in lobos on Saturday

Friend is heading that way tomorrow and I'll be down on Monday.Leigh

I was not down. Buddy was down with tom. They fished 3 days. Lots of triggers and Sierra mackerels. Biggest fish of the weekend was a 9 lb Sierra.

10 or so pangas anchored out at the reef bottom fishing.

Kathy got this guy recently, scott and her are taking charters out of Santo Tomas now...got some big groupers too

Why spear the Roosterfish? Only reason I ask is I've heard they aren't good eating, never had one personally though.

When we were hanging out at JJ's last week, we saw 10 pangas come in. All were completely full of conches. One of them had a plywood cover between the front two benches. When they got to shore, out popped a guy......not sure what that was all about, but sure looked weird to us. Also, heard that the previous week when it was windy, one of the pangas which was full of conches sunk when a wave came over the side and one of the fisherman died in the accident.

Saw this just now via Defrente...

Today in the morning fishing the Gulf of Santa Clara blocked the coastal road to Puerto Penasco in protest because they have not reached them subsidies granted to compensate the damage by the total ban on fishing in the Upper Gulf.

Passing vehicles on that route was blocked Penasco -San Luis RC and it is not known until they are removed.

People tried that years ago when the shrimpers went on strike and they stopped them and turned the cars over !

Where are the guys with the hummers with the 50 cal. guns when you need them to do their job? Every other place they are not needed!

Just talked to some guys who came down this morning. Nothing happening.

I know some people and come to think of it so does Russ, that were so scared after that deal that they never came back.

The el Golfo fishermen have deep cartel ties...would not mess with them
