We will be arriving right at lunch time. Where is the best (soonest) place to eat on the way to Las Palomas when we get into town?
Hillbeartoe
With out instantly going for tacos, you could just hit Lucas.
mis2810
Definitely Pollo Lucas.
tequilatodd
I second and third that. And don't forget the cold cerveza

How about FISH on top of whale hill. Some of the best seafood in town AND an amazing view. They even have lobster rolls!

Where is Pollo Lucas?
Roberto
Pollo Lucas is on Benito Juarez close to Calle 13. If you take the best way to Sandy Beach you will come in on the new road and avoid town completely, a good idea what with all the construction going on. In that case, you might choose to go to the Snorin Grill at The Sonoran Spa for lunch and hit town later.

I think the Grill is only open for dinner unless that changes during the summer. Both Bandito's and Chango's are on the road heading for the Sea and the Spa. If you take the new road, those are probably the first eating places you will hit. Chango's has a pool!

Chango's food is not that great, If Pollo Lucas is open like many are saying then that would be where we would go because it's delicious and so extremely affordable BUT keep in mind it's outside, it's June or whenever you are going may be even hotter , that's why during the summer we wait until evening to go to Lucas. We love Rosy's by super Ley and Latitude's, Rosy's has amazing well priced Mexican food in doors, Latitudes has a large variety, will be nice & cool , it always has cold a.c. on the summer, very clean , well decorated, lots of tvs. Rosy's is definitely on the way to your resort if you can figure out where it is, Latitude 31 is not on the way but worth going a little out of your way if you have time to kill before checking or definitely going at some point during your vacation

FISH is gone. It's all Pane e Vino now. Just as well, food, price, and portions were horrible.

BlueMarlin with their shrimp tacos and incredible cilantro cream

Colin's Cantina at the Princessa Resort is pretty consistently good...has a/c inside. Monday burger special is great as are the short rib tacos on Tuesday

We found the BEST taquito stand (a few locals recommended it when we asked the absolute best taquito stand) it's got covering for shade and it sits on a concrete slab, same side of the street as Sams Club / Bodega . If you are in town it's pretty close to right before you get to Sams Club/ Bodega , if you are coming in from out of town it's right after. POBLANO'S . So delicious, so inexpensive, carne asada or pastor taquitos soft or a crunchy tostada shell or tortas . Quesadillas , cups of pinto beans. They have a small bathroom in the back if you really have to go At least it's there. The people that run it / work it are always super nice . Yum & easy on the wallet kind of like Pollo Lucas.

Tacos Poblanos is also on the Ace Hardware road on the south east corner on Sinaloa. That's our favorite taco stand as well, and seems to be a favorite of locals.

WildToucan, did you notice if Colin's serves Corona/Pacifico beer?
I'm not a fan of how Tecate/DosXX has taken over most places

I hear they have some awesome Mexican craft beers, but haven't been there as of yet.

We saw that one and we're assuming it was the same ownership. Soooo yummy

Different owners. The one by Sam's is better IMO.

The one off Benito Juarez on Ocana was terrible vs the other times I've been there, Carne asada tacos were really dry, like jerky. So disappointing

Not sure on corona but I believe they do have Pacifico. The craft beers are supposed to be good.
