hey, everyone, please check out our new website, www.rockypointrestaurants.net. It's dedicated to listing every restaurant in town (we have 52 now), with location, maps, description etc. No reviews, it's not a review site, and we're listing restaurants for free so if you have a favorite that's not there, tell them about us!

I tried to write to your website but was not able to. Please add Lolita's to your list. The #1 combo is YUMMAY and the prices are very reasonable!
mel150
Lolita's and contact

You should be able to click on email us on this page: http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net/contact.html

I'll be happy to add Lolita's- do you mind telling me where it is, and I'll go in and have a chat with them? Thanks!!
Jim
Camel Toe Cantina now has Don Juan Salvadors. Great Burgers, ribs, wings, shrimp etc...
mel150
awesome, we'll check them out, too. Thanks!
tyler
Why did you host it at bluehost? You should have told me, I could have given you a discount.
sunshine
Last time we were there we tried "Fetes" (sp?)

Sorry - cannot give location. (I get lost in my camper!)
Roberto
Where is the bookstore located? Do you charge to list a restaurant?
mel150
listing restaurants is free

The bookstore is online, www.westofedenbooks.com. Nope, we list restaurants ABSOLUTELY FREE!! Sorry, Tyler, I am a bluehost affiliate, so I get a little cheque every time I start a new website with them.. :-(

Hey, Lady Jeeper, I still can't find Lolita's! Help! Fetes... I'm not sure where that is, either. Darn. Can anyone help with locations of either of those?
Ladyjeeper
It's on the east side of Campeche between Fremont and Matamoros in the Mirador.
mel150
Tyler, can you email Rosie about hosting a new domain? :) Thanks.
mel150
Thanks, Lady Jeeper, we'll go over next week!
audsley
Some others seem to be missing. What about the Lighthouse, El Capitan, La Curva and the Happy Frog?
La Huerita
Another place for great chicken is El Pollo Papago near the NW corner of Benito Juarez and Constitucion. You get a baked potato with your chicken there. Eat in or take out. The owner is a fellow named Martin, you couldn't meet a nicer guy.
La Huerita
Also, how about Asadero Guss and Lucky House at Calle 13? Are they still open?
Ladyjeeper
Cathy,
Do you mean Hacienda Las Fuentes? On the south side of the road going towards Las Conchas? Is that your "fetes"? If so, it's already listed.
Chari

OK - It's "Fedas" past Rosy's heading toward the condo's, before the RR tracks turn left and it is on the left side of the street.
There is an advertising sign on the left side of the road before you turn left.
Hope this helps! It's kinda new. Was there in April, but it may be closed now.
mel150
found it, thanks!
mexicoruss
Fedes restaurant is on the road going to Sandy Beach resorts before you get to the round about with the Worldwide Group office. If you are going from town and you pass the Pemex across the street from the building that used to be Mr Rocky Steak go about 2 more blocks toward Sandy Beach and look for the little sign in the median. Go left about 1 block and it is on the left side

Brian's Sports Bar down East of the fire station has a good burger and fish sammich. Not been since June. Hope they made it...
mel150
Yep, we're keeping on top of it, everyone, thanks for all the suggestions- as it says on page one, our aim is to list every restaurant in town, but we're only two people. :) If you can get your favorite restaurant to send us a picture of their front, a description of why they're unique, their location, and a scan or picture of their menu, that would be a huge help! We can list them faster that way than if we have to go visit every one. That being said, we did list 52 restaurants in our first week, so we're well on the way. We really appreciate all the input!
mel150
Ok, Lady Jeeper, Mariscos Lolita is up, and thanks for pointing us that way! More to come, we also added Asadero El Real.

Bryans seems to be doing very well. It is not just a tourist spot. Wed. nights there is a special on hot wings and you won't get a seat if you get there late. Friday night gets out all the Black Doggers for the Prime Rib special. During special sports events, soccer and fights, the place can be jammed also. They recently added several Mexican favorites to the menu. Even on quiet nights there seems to be more locals than tourists.

Am I just not seeing Koffee's Haus? Its real close to Latitude...

Hey Mel, I see you met Francisco and Carmen. By the way, your website is great. I love that you put the menus in. Congratulations.
mel150
Koffee Hause- got it, we will add that. We have 54 of the hundred's of restaurants here, and are adding more daily. Thanks for reminding us of one more. :)
Mentiras y Traición
This is terrific information! Makes your mouth water just viewing the options!
mel150
Thanks! I know there are a few places we're going to go but soon!!
mel150
We added La Curva- does anyone want to check our description, in case it's out of date? Thanks! http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net/town.html
Ladyjeeper
When I clicked on the menu for Lolitas yesterday, I got a bunch of different Lolitas, like in Philly and in Virginia? None in PP. Today when I clicked on it, it said webpage not found. ???????????????

Damn, sorry about that- try it now, ok? http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net/menus/lolitas.html
mel150
Added another one

OK, we added El Pollo Papago! This week we intend to add a few more, next week we'll buckle down and add as many as 25 more.
tyler
burger king, i hope?
tyler
Are you going to add something so we can vote and add ratings/reviews?
mel150
HA! I don't think BK will ever make it- or McD if it arrives. We were in Nova Scotia once, north of Maine, and the McD there was selling a McLobster sandwich- right next to a restaurant selling real lobster rolls! And they were doing business!!!!

Tyler, we don't currently plan on adding ratings or reviews, we don't mean it to be a review website, because reviews are so subjective. For instance, we went to El Pollo Papago last week and were really disappointed, but someone else on here really likes it, so I assume we just hit a bad day, or a bad time of day. Having said that, it could change in time as the website grows. Right now it's lots of work just getting all those restaurants listed! :)
mel150
Added another 11 restaurants on Calle 13! We're rolling now!
mel150
Hi, everyone, we added 10 new restaurants today, many with menus, such as Comida China which looks wonderful!
jerrypar72
Another estaurant review website

I noticed that some of the readers wanted actual "reviews" of restaurants in RP. A good site to read restaurant reviews is www.restaurantsinrockypointcom.
mel150
That's true, except not to be mean, but they are way out of date. They have a ton of restaurants on there that are no longer in business. Just to be warned, you may find a restaurant with a great review and arrive only to find a boxed up shell of a building.
La Pequena Hermana
Nothing beats the old "La Cita Cafe"!!!
One of the only AC places in town and the BEST mexican food ever!!!
Ohhhh how I miss it!!!
La Pequena Hermana
Used to bring our own containers and when we were getting ready to leave stop by and have them filled. Enchiladas, chimicangas...oh my.......
Ladyjeeper
Oh yeah!!!!!
Back in the 70's it was the best air conditioning in town!!!! I agree, they had the best food and I was so sad to see them close.
azbeachboy
And a juke box with Carley Simon! Time to head south for the weekend!
Ladyjeeper
Nobody does it better!
joester
makes me feel sad for the rest.....
Ladyjeeper
Nobody does it half as good as you........
joester
baby, you're the best!

(it's just wrong that I still remember that after all these years)
Ladyjeeper
Yeah, we're dating ourselves but we ARE the best!

And just be glad you can remember something!:eek3::lol:

This was posted by Roberto. Thanks for the info!
New Bakery
La Cubanita, turn at Pollo Lucas two blocks off Benito Juarez, on the corner on the right hand side, can't miss it. It's the same building as Oscar's Fruiteria was in. LOTS of different baked goods, even a very respectable baguette. Owner is very nice, good English. Place is spacious and clean.
mel150
Excellent bakery, you'll find it on our website www.rockypointrestaurants.net!
Mentiras y Traición
That is a great website. Thank you so much for compiling all the information. Looking at it makes my mouth water!

Great website...lots of work went into providing pictures.
thanks,
brother d
mel150
Thanks for the kind words!
SunDevil
Great site!
GringoZona
So, since this Web site is no longer operative, is it about time to take down this sticky? Or, maybe post this one instead? http://restaurantsinrockypoint.com/
mel150
yep

Sorry, I forgot about this sticky, yes please lose it. :)
janetandclint
We just spent one week in PP and ate at Mary's on the Malecon at least five times. We loved the food, the wait staff, the view of the water, the roving musicians and the businesses and vendors outside. We started the day with a cup of good coffee at the Candy Cake just downstairs to the side, sat on the patio above Candy Cake and waited for tacos for breakfast one day. We made friends with the vendors that sold in the open square to the south of Mary's and Candy Cake.

I went to the website but was unable to view Rocky Point restaurant listing. What am I doing wrong? Anything I clicked on didn't take me there?
Ladyjeeper
He took the website down a few months ago...
mel150
Yes, sorry, I just couldn't keep up with it-I'm a she, btw, just for the record :)

If you have any questions about local restaurants, I'd be happy to try to answer them though.
Ladyjeeper
Oooops! Sorry....
mel150
No worries, Ladyjeeper, how could you know? Mel.. maybe I should change that to something more feminine. :)
jdrockypoint
Restaurant guide is very difficult to navigate. I like the old Rockypointrestaurants.
