That's sort of a racist comment doncha think? We could compile a list of problem stuff that the US hoggs up, like gasoline. The white people are far more destructive to the environment than many other groups. It's far from a racial issue and characterizing it as such merely makes it more difficult to find a solution most of the time.
Your comment places the responsibility for the problem on the consumer side but where do you place responsibility for trade in illegal drugs?
Racist comment? Last I heard, gasoline is not an endangered species. The topic is that of T-bass bladders. So yes theY-peril can be associated with much of the poaching that is associated with theworld. The Chinese deems damn near any endangered species an aphrodisiac of somesort. Hell, have they not heard of Viagra? It is not racist; it is pretty much the truth. Do you have an exampleotherwise? Ask the game keepers for African nations who are the largest markets for the poaching of elephants, rhinos. etc.

How come whites are far more destructive? What about all the other colors???

Demand, and demand alone drives a trade. Try smuggling dog crap for sale in foreign countries and see how well you do. The fact is that in this case Asian Taste for bizarre animal parts is driving demand. This is a problem worldwide. I don't see a lot of powdered rhino horn or fish bladders being smuggled in to the U.S. or Mexico, it is purely an Asian problem and you should learn to be honest with yourself and the facts of the issue and call a "spade a spade". Being an apologist to Asian demand for fish bladders by comparing U.S. gas consumption to the problem takes focus off of the issue at hand. If you want to complain about U.S. gas consumption do so in another thread ( and I bet you will not be called a racist either). This said, I agree, the suppliers and smugglers of animal parts are scum.

One more thing: your extremely racist comments about "whites" in the U.S. is offensive and off base. In a few short years whites will make up less than half the population of the U.S. and racist comments like yours will be even more kooky.

The term "yellow peril" was recklessly chosen and might be pushing it a bit, but no, I don't believe my point qualifies as racist. Racism is abandoning facts in favor of purely raced-based judgments. The facts in this case are that folk medicines and food fads among Asian elites are threatening bears, rhinos and ocean ecology world wide. I'm just laying these problems on the correct doorstep. Polite silence about these problems won't help. Public awareness and global condemnation might.
Yes, the U.S. does use a lot of gasoline, but the Chinese are doing their best to catch up and are generating far more pollution per unit of output than the U.S. has produced in many decades.
Is it a racial issue? Depends on how thoroughly race can be separated from culture and ethnic pride. A well-educated Chinese women I know believes in her people's folk medicines despite having some medical training herself and a sister who is a doctor and assures her it's all bull crap. Beliefs that purport to represent the unique knowledge and wisdom of one's culture die hard. I have no problem disavowing my grandparents' belief that a fresh onion can suck the poison from a rattlesnake bite, or that water can be "witched" with a divining rod, but it's easier to dismiss folk wisdom from one's own culture when it's other members of that culture doing the dismissing. Asians need their own Mark Twain.
Where do I place responsibility for illegal drugs? Why, on Democrats, of course. Surely you don't think it's Republicans toking all that reefer, do you? They're drinking beer and Jack Daniels. Besides being illegal, they've read that weed lowers testosterone, and how you gonna be a Republican when you've got low T?
Well, now that I've set the grenade on the table and pulled the pin, I think I'll go do some yard work. When I get back I hope I don't find I've been banned, but I knew what I was doing when I followed this digression from fish ecology into the socio-political netherworld where so many threads seem to want to go.
My very poorly made point is that problems like this deserve, nay demand, a systems perspective to find an adequate solution. Different cultural perspectives make issues even more complicated. Remember when during a past problematic election in the US the Japanese sent a boatload of viagra to the US because they heard we could not get an election ??

Whats this have to do with you putting down (slamming) the white people? Need to come up with something better than this. I think you need a longer rope, It seems it is compendiary to the hole you excavated for yourself. I'm reading some back peddling. You should just apologize for your slanderous remark about white people. Us whitey are more forgiving.
Cambridge Dictionary definition: Slanderous: a false, spoken statement about someone which damages that person's reputation, or the making of such a statement:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: In the context of mailing lists, discussion groups, discussion forums, bulletin boards, newsgroups, and wikis a contribution is off-topic if it is not within the bounds of the current discussion, and on-topic if it is.
I understand a processing plant is about to be built in Lobos by China (a country made up of many ethnic groups) and you can be sure they will mess things up,over fish and do more harm than good in the long run.I have met via the internet a few exiled 80 year old plus Tibetan monks from my part in the Diamond Mountain cult death in Bowie Az.These guys hiked out of the Himalayas with the Dali Lama in the 50's and have no great love for what China (and the America Geshe/China suck up Michael Roach...leader of the cult next to me)
i heard a few months ago that the land that was cleared is in part going to be a Chinese owned fish processing facility. they are going to can crab for one thing and they will be scraping the bottom for everything they can get....just the way they work...

Probably not good for the area, albeit in some ways reminiscent of the story of shargri-la, magnificent vistas and incredible fishing, better you me.
This has been going on for a long time. It started when the railroads were being built along Yuma route as well as the San Luis -Mexicali route. The laborers were mostly Chinese (slaves for the most part) The Totoaba came from the deep waters down around Vallarta - Mazatlan to the shallow waters of the Northern sea of Cortes' They spawned in water shallow enough that the hunters could actually just go out and pick them up and toss or carry them to shore. Before refrigeration the meat was tossed and the swim bladder was sold to restaurants in Yuma and San Luis and Mexicali to make the swim bladder soup. After refrigeration was available (mid sixties I think) the meat was also taken and sold for a much lower price. This did not happen in small numbers it was a massacre.
The Totoaba has been on the endangered species list for a long time. A major function of CEDO here in Peñasco is to educate the fishermen of the area regarding endangered species and try to solve the problem. There has been some progress, according to CEDO they have seen all sizes of Totoaba in the life cycle lately indicating that babies are being born which is a good thing. But alas GREED has shown it's ugly head again and the raping of the Totoaba has begun anew. It is a sad commentary on the human race not just one race. Come with me to CEDO some day and we can discuss the whole story in detail.
So, here's the plan... I'm going to start saving all my white sea bass bladders. Think anybody (other than federal agents conducting a DNA test) would really know the difference? I mean, can you see some Chinese guy somewhere in a restaurant saying "HEY!! This fish bladder soup tastes like white sea bass, not endangered species!!!"
Step 1 - Go catch white seabass, save bladder. Step 2 - ???? Step 3 - PROFIT!!!!!!
Obviously, I joke. But honestly? Who would know the difference?
In unrelated news, this happened yesterday in El Golfo. On a forum that I am a member they posted it and asked "how could this happen" "what are the doing?" and some post that the governor has a new plan to help save the Vaquita and the totoaba and this is the first step ha ha
Lol if it wasn't for whitey, Mexico would be the Africa of the Americas. You'd see 10x as many 1 armed dudes begging for money at the Lukeville crossing than just 1. Whites are Penasco's economy, if it wasn't for them that place would be just another barren shithole that cannot feed themselves unless it's from outside help.

Very nice, thoughtful comment there Hoochie Coochie !!
Roberto I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling from that comment that Hooch made. I am sure if he offered that comment to any of the towns people here he may leave with a different opinion. Hooch your comment is simply not true and it is offensive.
I know you didn't speak it, you just wrote it. I will forgive you, just do me a favor. Next white person you see, give them a huge.
Slander refers only to the spoken word, according to the definition. Since I wrote it it cannot be slander. Try another adjective!
Funny thing is that I personally do not think there are any white people, yellow people, red people, brown people, just people people. My wisecrack was purely in response to the 'yellow' comment to see what it would elicit. As I expected, some took issue with the racial reference I made but not to the yellow comment. Both of course are totally unnecessary comments.
Funny thing is that I personally do not think there are any white people
Well whoever they are Roberto, their going to be the minority in the good old USA soon... Hey that reminds me. I was in San Bernardino over the weekend and the Mexican food was not only plentiful, it was good!

They're going to be the majority in Pto. Penasco Kenny!

Ha! It's kind of like running into the fire  , isn't it?
I was in Victorville Cali and Yuma this month too, and again the Mexican food and the Indian fry bread at Cocopah was great there too.
The truth is offensive period wether you like it or not. Fact of the matter is if it it wasn't for whitey and the foreign aid they supply, half of the worlds cultures would be extinct right now. This is simple fact, join the military you will earn a first hand account in the real history of real third world shitholes.

That's the problem...it's not truth, it's perception. IE: Military trains you to believe what you believe, you are a slave to their teachings. Is a person happier stressing about how to pay for their crap (material possessions) more than a person who doesn't have to pay the crap that they don't have? Perception brutha perception. I will stick with the latter (yes I spelled my words right, except for brutha because the correct one brother doesn't fit our relationship) At the end of the day it's all opinions anyway.....live the way you want to and I will too. But you are still wrong!
Russ I would watch blacks by the thousands surround a UN truck filled with rice bags in Liberia in 96 it was all perception though I guess lol coulda been color TVs or machetes for all I know lol
And so that makes truth for you? If people are going to give you as a simple person something for nothing then I guess you would be fool not to take it.....but if you weren't there would they survive? Maybe yes....maybe no, not your call........ You only changed their life (for better or worse, debatable) , you may not (did not) have enhanced it. Bring your luggage, leave your baggage. Your way (no matter who you are - no matter how rich or smart you think you are) is no better than anyone else in a world like we have. Live like a citizen of the world and you will find your journey smoother and more enriching than thinking you have it all and everyone should be thankful to God that you exist (that thought only exist in your head)
sometimes this forum is interesting just to follow a thread for 52 posts and see where it ends up.
hopefully, the folks in the Diamond Mt death cult are as friendly as those in that New Jersey death cult.
gato tacos are delicious, but the meat has to be cooked quickly, otherwise it gets tough and tastes like cat.
back to the fish bladders - mixed with a bit of rhino horn and tiger blood, probably makes a tasty soup.
enjoy.

Ha, now I know why you guy's seemed slightly disappointed when I just brought you fish without bringing the Black Bear gall bladder you asked for to enhance the rituals after the feast. I thought you were just kidding, honest.:-P
Kenny,
we LOVED the fish - thank you! Since about 1995, the live beating bear hearts and gall bladders just don't seem as tasty as they used to, so we have done without for most general dining purposes - but we do make exceptions on August 1st each year.
what's amazing, is that most folks don't even notice we have substituted tofu in it's place!
ha! you know THAT's not true! more bear parts for everyone!
have a very fruitful day y'all !!
