I just read the article elsewhere and then came to the forum and found this thread. It sounds highly unlikely he is dead and frankly as much as I hate to say it I think Penasco is better off with him still running things as it keeps things relatively quiet. If he is taken out and turf war erupts for control of Sonora (which has got to be as valuable if not more so than Chiuaua to drug smuggling) then it is going to get real ugly.

I do not have ANY first hand knowledge of any of the Cartels comings and goings but it seems as if Sr. Guzman helps keep things calm in Sonora, as far as tourists go.

I made the same comment to my friends. Chapo is a good business man and ios good for PP. His town and he helps keep it clean.
I for one are concerned for the future safety of PP.
