As most of you know, I haven't been feeling well for 6 months. I have lost 45 pounds as the mere sight of food gags me. I kept telling my doc but all he did was tell me I was fine. Friday I started throwing up. I couldn't even keep water down. Yesterday at 5 I went to Urgent Care at Nextcare It only took and hour and a half to be seen as opposed to 5 hours at Good Sam and it was only 40 bucks as opposed to 150 at Good Sam, They gave me a saline drip, a shot to stop the throwing up, took blood and urine (after I had enough water in me) did an x ray and 3 prescriptions, one to keep the throwing up away and the others I don't know for what. I haven't read my papers yet. They wrote an order for a cat scan and that other procedure for the other end that we all avoid, as they can't do that there. They told me to drink Pedialite and Powerade and try to eat. I was home by 10. I am very concerned and am changing docs tomorrow. I will be glad when I finally know what is wrong. Please pray for me, family and I'll keep you posted. All the personnel at Nextcare are wonderful and I highly recommend them.
Prayers with you as you battle this. Hopefully the new doctor will figure it out and it will be an easy fix once they know what it is. My God bless and keep you.
Take care of yourself. I'm glad you went for a second opinion. Sometimes you do get more answers from doctors that don't know you. Usually your regular doc is better, but sometimes it just takes "starting over" for a good diagnosis.
Whoa. The immediate encouraging news in your situation is that you changed docs. That alone will have been a huge step, from what you describe. Now that they're finally investigating rather than patting you on the head and telling you to run along, you can look forward to answers, treatment and recovery. Best to you.
So sad how some doctors treat their patients. They don't even listen anymore. I've heard this kind of thing over and over. Chari, I'm so glad you're taking matters into your own hands. You are your own best advocate - you know when something is not right. Glad you're changing docs. Positive thoughts and prayers for you!
I had both my appts made by 8:20 this morning. I still can't eat much and I'm still thirsty after 2 bottles of pedialite and 2 bottles of Powerade. I managed to eat yoghurt and dry toast yesterday and hold on to it. So, I'm calling off work again because I don't want to fall down in the parking lot.... I'm so weak.. I'm going to try a bottle of Ensure...I'll probably hate it....Thanks for all your support....
Jerry, I wasn't feeling well enough even last summer to go camping. It was all I could do to drag my ass to Rocky Point....I'll mention it tho.
Like you say my Hoosier friend "getting old ain't for sissy's", and you're sure as hell aren't. So what ever this stuff is, I know you'll kick it's butt and be down to PP before you know it.:sunny:

Not to argue in a serious thread but I have rarely if ever heard of Docs doing this. I would flush my Doc in 5 minutes if I ever felt this way as should everyone.
