Back in the mid 80's when I wanted to get away I would cut through a place in the fence and drive up to the top of the dunes on the north end of La Pinta estuary and then we would walk down from there. We could be there all day and not see anyone, even on a weekend. There was a old beat up palapas there at the time and it was from under it that I took this picture after a big tide had turned... Look Ma, no Mayan Palace.
Years later and right after they opened up the free zone I was off to try to find another "get away" going south and that's when I found Santo Tomas before I ever knew Jerry. Janice and I never actually made it to the Las Dunas community, but we were very close to it on that first trip and drove through the Ejido, Alvaro Obregon. We were dismayed that they had to put in dirt speed bumps for the ugly Americans, but delighted with the Ocotillo blooming fences. The door had been opened and my search was on.
Can't load because the file size is too large. Try uploading smaller file size pic's. I tried to load a 200k file and got the error. I tried a 40k file and it loaded fine.
Problem with files under 40k are poor quality at anything larger than a thumbnail 2" x 1.5". Sounds like the admin needs to allow larger sized pic's.

Hey mondone here is a really easy to use image resize tool. Just install it and then right click on any pic and choose resize picture. Then you can choose large, medium, small or mobile. My original pic above was 1.66 megs and I resized it to medium and it brought it down to 90kb. http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/

Love that picture #6! Wish I could have it blown up and matted, would be a perfect picture to stair at on a daily basis! This thread is rocking, let's keep knocking!
#6 ....was it taken from the lighthouse restaurant?
Might of come off as a dick but occasionally some of these pictures get jacked up "enhanced" automatically by google+ or by a photographer trying to perfect nature. It just makes for a unreal shot and makes you look twice at the rest of the photos to see what is real. I have done this myself in the past and started thinking it was sort of like using pine tar in baseball. The picture that caught my eye was Ruby's....a great shot even if enhanced....maybe we should note that a picture has extra processing when posted. If it was not enhanced it was the sunset of the year.

Are you talking about Rugby's, as in mine? I took it with an ipad from my balcony and used the tapatalk app to load it to the forum. I didn't filter or enhance it or anything. I just got lucky I guess.
I take a pic of the sunset every night here and they are always amazing but if you catch it at the right moment it is UNBELIEVABLE!

well It was a great picture...that is sort of why I even commented on enhanced photos...when you get a great real shot it should stand out. Now that I look back I think it was the photo before yours...hell that was probably real too!

Remember that our natural eyes are a lens that's about 5o mm, approximated by phone and tablet cameras. A camera lens that's 300 mm is compressing the scene to make the most-distant objects--sun, moon, and other horizon features--appear bigger and closer. And it also picks out the most-colorful and vibrant center of a sunset shot. It's a genuine scene. But different from the one from our natural lens.

Good point but software
features like auto enhance are not called auto correct for a reason.
Does anyone actually still live there? Last I heard there were only 13 units sold and the elevators weren't working.
Actually is is operational. There was a problem but the buyers got together a got control somehow. Have a friend that owns there and rents. And yes 13 sold so hurry hurry hurry and get yours today !! Jerry has been looking I know. He usually buys a whole floor to motivate the market er no.....That was Mr. Big and he's gone...... could mean a great opportunity for some lucky people. The only high rise finished, sort of, condo in Unconscious. What's a little smudge of a legal problem? Luxury living at its finest. Puts all of SB to shame. I heard you can see Santo Thomas from there which is why Jerry is jumping in.
