Don't bother. Water just still seems too warm. 88-89 degrees. Caballo? Dead. Island? Dead. Witches Hat? One nice corvina, one gold spot. 43? Dead. Nose 1? Dead. Other boats I spoke with were about the same at the 22, 18, etc. A couple corvina, couple of croakers, but mostly just a lot of sweat. We did manage to pick up one peanut dorado on the troll, but it came unbuckled - out by the 43. You know it's bad when even the triggerfish at the island don't want to bite.

Water is good and blue out by the Witches Hat and there were several finback whales leisurely cruising around us all morning, but it was still, flat, humid, HOT and no breeze. Oh, did I mention HOT? Had to take my shirt off and literally wring the sweat out of it! Went for a refreshing swim out there and it helped, but was only temporary comfort. You know, that worst day fishing is still better than your best day working thing.

My advice would be to wait a few more weeks and hopefully the water will cool down a bit.

Well this is encouraging... :( We'll be there throwing fly rods Friday-Sunday in the estuary and off the rock jetty. Here's to hoping for a quick cool down.

Should be really great fishing in a couple of weeks onshore and offshore

I just can't wait. We will be going down tomorrow and at least if there are no fish I can learn about my jet ski. I have to learn how to get back on in deep water in case I just have to take a swim to cool off. I will be staying in close and fishing down to the estuary. There has to be something down there!
If any one is down stop by PDO # 50
Sad to say that we have to come back Sun. afternoon as Edna has a Dr. appoint on her eye.
Hope to see anyone.
