Plutarco EliasCalles ruled Mexico in the 20's.His crackdown of the Catholic Church (the church was in league with villians but this went way overboard) made use of tactics such as beheadings to instill fear. It of course didn't work in the long run...lucky for some of our Forum members!

Father Hildalgo was beheaded also along with other revolutionaries, and the 4 heads were placed on the corners of the city of Guanajuato:
