A month or so ago when I was fishing in Cholla Bay when I caught what I thought was a corvina. It looked very similar except it had those protruding lips and mouth. Very similar dorsal fins, just like the shortfin corvina. We had caught a bunch of these down in Santo Tomas too and someone had referred to them as dulce something or other. I forgot to ask the question before but I just came across some kayak videos of Redfish fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and these Red drums "redfish" look exactly like what Im trying to describe. So my question is, are there Red drum in Rocky Point waters/sea of cortez and secondly, are they good eating?
Mr. Moore you are quickly becoming the go-to guy for answers around here. Much obliged once again. Yes it is the California Corbina 4th picture exactly!!!! Got some weird protruding mouth and they call them Dulce something down in Santo Tomas.

We also catch some good sized yellow finned Croaker in that little estuary Joe, but I'm not sure if we did when you were there.
Gene Kira has semi-retired. Plus, he has to have reports to publish reports. Nobody has been fishing/submitting to him. I used to all the time, but my computer time is limited lately. Ya just don't know how much work it takes.
