shore/kayak fishing this coming weekend

Hi everyone,

I'll be in RP this coming weekend for the RCTP concert at JJ's, and hopefully staying at the Reef RV park.

My friends and I have an inflatable kayak.

Any tips for fishing from the kayak or shore anywhere around sandy beach, the reef or cholla bay? (time of day, bait, location?) We really like the cochitos!

Cochis are almost everywhere. Especially where there's some structure. I've had my best luck with triggers in 25 to 40' of water. Calamari is the bait of choice, but they'll bite on almost any kind of meat. Don't let them bite the end of your finger off. They like them too. You should be able to get calamari on the malecon for $3 to $6.00 a kilo. Have a great time.

They also love Rock Bass. Cut into strips and leave skin on pieces #1 or 2 hook
