Caught a few pompano and rock bass today off of Pelican Point and in Cholla. Water was good today with little to no wind. Cut up some pompano for Flounder bait but didnt get anything bottom fishing.

Sweet. What'd you catch the pompano on?

I'll be down in two-1/2 weeks fishing Morua from the yak. It's been a whole year :(

Getting the jump on me I see... Did you rent, or did you buy the one, or one like the one you were looking at?

Ha, sorry Kenny, I couldnt resist. Yea I rented this one, fished out of cholla bay the last two days and Im still here! I was supposed to go home last night but a few people convinced me to stay for a little bit. More fishing today and sailing, staying again tonight. I could get used to this! Im starting to feel like Jimmy Buffet...

I usually get the pompano on chrome spoons. That in particular was a Luhr Jenson, 1oz chrome spoon. Ive caught them on chrome Kastmaters with or without the white bucktail.

Del Mar Charters, as you start to come around the right hand bend into the Malecon its I believe the second right as if you are going down to the docks of the Marina.
