As some of you know, I have not been feeling well for the last few months. Numb foot, pain and now a surgery that won't heal. Today they finally figured out what it is. I have a 100% blockage of my center femoral artery in my right leg, from my hip to my knee. The whole thing is blocked! Friday morning I am having a stent put in at the Arizona Heart hospital. I am so glad that I will have my life back. It's outpatient, I can't drive for 2 days and I'll be back to work Monday, barring any unforeseen complications. I just wanted you all to know.... I'll try to post up Friday night if I'm not still zonked out. I'm so grateful that it's nothing worse.......But I don't understand why just that artery is blocked. The others are clear......
Best wishes on your up coming surgery... welcome to the club :-) As you know I had surgery on jan 4th and if its any comfort to you... modern surgery is just amazing Chari... you will be up and running again in no time ! We will be sitting on the beach by PDO again soon saying hey life is good !!!!!!!!!!! no worries !
Thanks Rob.
I have a ride. They said I would be able to care for myself at home, just not drive due to the location of the incision. I can;t push on the gas.....Ir's a really easy and non invasive surgery. They said I could go to work on Monday.
Hi Chari,
Best wishes and listen to the doctor. Heal fast and get back to the beach as quick as you can.
After another year of surgeries the beach was my best medicine!

I like the Joesters and Teri's sentiments, and like them, I'll be sending out some good vibes too! It's going to be a good thing Chari, and your going to feel much better, and soon.
Thanks everyone.
I forgot to tell you all the other added bonus of all this. I'm done smoking. The doctor said something about the smoke causing the artery to harden around the stent and some other horrifying stuff that ended with the word fatal....I always said it would take something big to make me quit and it did. God takes care of fools and children......
and congrats on quitting smoking! it's a really tough thing to do, but you've got a great reason! and besides, I hear it is easier than quitting living ;-)
Yea, gringa, you don't know me yet but I am retiring this year and was looking forward to more time in my beloved PP and helping there. I am a social worker and already have several jobs there when I come down.....Living is a good thing.....
Chari, I know you'll breeze through this and be dancing up a storm again soon. I will be praying for your speedy recovery and hope to see you down here as soon as you can. If you're up to it, listen to the show on Saturday! They finally gave us musical control and so Russ and I were uploading our favorite tunes to the system. I know you like the show, so we'll be sure to check in with you on the air.
Not yet, Ladyjeeper, but I almost feel like I do...
Just another dear friend we've not met yet :).
Happy to hear about your retirement, too!
Or, rather, your transition to your new career in PP!
You, like so many others, will no doubt be a blessing to that community!
Rest up, take care and we'll (hopefully)talk soon!
Great news on the no more smoking. My DH gave it up years ago and was the best thing he could have done for his health (besides moving to Penasco lol). Hope you are feeling much better. Salt air is a wonderful cure.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. In the past, in my "lurking " days I enjoyed your comments.....Hope to meet you in PP sometime. We may have things in common as I am a mental health therapist in Phoenix area. Hope you continue to feel better and get to PP soon.
