In the last week armed gunmen have setup air tight nightly checkpoints.....don't be in the wrong place at the wrong time ...avoid it and all dusk till dawn travel in the caborca coastal region while this flareup occurs.
So sad. El Desemboque was a treasured “old Mexico” stop for at one time. There was no electricity, great little mom & pop restaurants and a great fishing business.
When Raphael Caro Quentero is the good guy you know we live in a crazy region....My take: the election resulted in Morena taking the governor’s mansion. The new guy gave the ok to start kicking ass against the faction that has gotten a pass until now.. The new Governor also isn't part of the group trying to steal the gold mining land like the last one and is now going after Chapos boys.....shit getting real real!https://www.infobae.com/america/mexico/2021/06/26/golpe-al-cartel-de-sinaloa-enfrentamiento-entre-narcos-y-fuerzas-armadas-dejo-tres-muertos-en-caborca/. ..."................. The exgovernor’s Pavlovich uncle ( shes his puppet) is a real pos “Saltillo Coahuila. (Proceso.com.mx) .- The uncle of the current governor of Sonora, Claudia Pavlovich, Rafael Pavlovich Durazo, threatened the peasants of the ejido el Bajío, located in Caborca, so that they desist from continuing to claim their lands before the Agrarian Court or else he will put them in prison or "disappear", representatives of the ejidatarios reported to the Process . Gabriel Robledo Cruz, brother of the president of the ejido, who has been missing since September last year, looked for Procesoto denounce Pavlovich's threats against the peasants. In an interview by phone, he specified that the governor's uncle arrived at the ejido protected by two army units to warn them: “Just by snapping their fingers the authorities will imprison them. They have 72 hours to appear before the Agrarian Court and withdraw from the lawsuits against me and the Penmont mining company ”. The peasants have already won a lawsuit in the Agrarian Court against the Penmont Mine, a US firm that illegally appropriated hundreds of hectares over the years to extract gold from the lands of the ejido. The court ruling ordered the mining company to return the lands and pay for the illegal usufruct they made of them. It is estimated at 300 million dollars what the miera should have given to the ejidatarios. Nevertheless, The US mine left the country and sold its concession to its partner Minera Herradura, owned by businessman Alberto Baillères, who also owns the Palacio de Hierro. Rafael Pavlovich currently poses as an ejidatario and intends to illegally appropriate the land with the support of corrupt magistrates from the Agrarian Court. Pavlovich also told the peasants that he is a representative of the governor and “Mr. Manlio Fabio Beltrones”. That he was there to protect his interests and even warned that he was not going to allow a "ball of oaxacos" to prevent the sale of "his land to a mining company." "He assured that they had had enough of him and that there would be no more concessions, or we would submit and he would give us work or else they would put us in jail or they would disappear us," said Gabriel Robledo. Rafael Pavlovich arrived at the El Bajío ejido with a caravan of 6 vehicles escorted by two army units. "A group of 6 ejidatarios decided to follow the caravan in case they went to the lands of the ejido where the mine that is being looted by Rafael Pavlovich Durazo is located," described the representative of the peasants. “The army vehicles that were already detained returned to mark a stop for us. The Secretary of the ejido identified himself and told them that we were the owners of the land and that we were only going to see what was happening, ”said Robledo Cruz. In response, the military fired at him, told him to lie on the ground, and beat them when they tried to record with their mobile phones. The boots were then placed around their necks. They demanded the keys to their cell phones. A
Mexicans in Mexico frequent this forum religiously.
Maybe you don't actually frequent the place, but with the stuff you write as above I would advise staying at home in the good old USA.
Have no doubts that the Mexican Mob has their presence in every city in the USA so watch your back!

Says the guy who always insults Mexico...I on the otherhand like the place and am friends with many officials...My point is again things change...elections have consequences and in this case the Ejido and its claims to the mine may not be robbed by a Pri gangster clan ....
Sonora Mexico now has a leftist leaning governor....pretty amazing and the elite are spooked....we will see how this goes....he's also a deal maker that wont push the drug war too hard...the Mayor of Caborca likewise....lets hope funds flow to that underfunded area
