For about 12 years in September I would post a Thanksgiving roll call here. With the current situation we are all living in, we have sadly postponed this years Thanksgiving trip until the third week of March. We hope everyone has a great Holiday Season, safe and healthy. We look forward to a fresh, new year in 2021. Peace.

Dude, just SEND IT! We had no difficulty and to be honest, I don't think it felt any different than any other trip down. With that being said, I did find the mask policy to be frustrating to say the least. We were instructed different things by different people. Local and American. In the car, yes but with windows down, inside the car no with windows up. So dumb. We were under the impression it was very strict in Sonoyta regardless of being in the car and windows up. I saw 100 cars in line going North to LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS AMERICANOS in Sonoyta and maybe 3 cars the occupants were wearing a mask. I'm a pussy so I kept mine on my face the whole time. It's a stupid game and I hate losing. Nobody in Cholla Bay were wearing them and the cops didn't seem to care but not LIL OL JOEY T. Nope, his little white ass sure as hell had his on his face just in case. I wasn't trying to pay out $100 of my hard earned money from that 4th job I got.

Xactly. I assume cops will enforce it when they need some quick cash. Not getting it from these pussies though! We kept ours on regardless.

It really is way easy to wear a mask.

I've had no problem in Phoenix but then again we're only required to wear them inside a business. I'm not required to be wearing one when I'm outside working on my car or coming and going. Much different. A week and a half ago when we were in RP the humidity felt like September. It was close to 50% I believe and the day we left, Wednesday the 14th it was up to 60%. Two of the mornings in Cholla Bay getting the boat set up with rods and battery and all the dive crap doing everything we needed to do I had sweat absolutely pouring down my nose mouth area down the front of my neck. At one point it was unbearable. I completely understand the necessity when you're in an enclosed area around other people but outside in Cholla Bay with nobody around is pointless especially when not one other person was wearing a mask. My neighbor wears his mask to go get the mail from the mailbox. Still trying to figure that one out. I think he's got this confused with TB or something... Does he think Covid is airborne like radiation??? By himself as he goes to get the mail, mask on. Outside. The entire time. I think he's also an Incel so maybe there's a connection there?

I had my mask off the whole time and even waved at the cops. No one said squat except when going in Restaurants.

Not something to be proud of.

Masks cause respiratory problems. I have already had the virus and have anti-bodies. So I risk not giving it to others. So I am proud. Never be a steeple.

You might not have to stress. We heard from a very reliable source that the powers that be are considering either closing down again or setting up the sanitary filter again. Not sure of the details yet but there was supposed to have been some kind of vote being taken this week. BrokenWave might have more details...

From what I heard, they were going to try the changes to the curfew hours 10PM-6AM, requiring masks with better enforcement until Christmas.
Rocky Point 360 has the new restrictions on-line.
If that doesn't slow the rise in Covid cases, they will start closing in person seating to restaurants and reduce hours again to 8PM-6AM,
and maybe install the sanitary filter again.
I am back in the USA. Hopefully they don't shut it down again.
I have a trip planned in early Dec to re-do my kitchen, cabinets will be finished right after Thanksgiving.

The State Police has been running a big checkpoint (8 to 10 officers) on the coast road in front of Islas, but they haven’t been stopping us or checking for masks yet. I’ve got to make a short trip back to CA, so I hope they give us a warning on another shutdown.

We'd love to get down one more time in November so fingers crossed that it's just curfew and masks.

As of Sat the 7th curfew was changed to 11 to 6

I think we’re a few months from turning the corner. The Pfizer vaccine (I’m in their clinical trial) is almost certain to get a well deserved emergency use authorization when the panel meets on December 10, and then it will be shots in the arm for 12 million Americans before the end of the year. By spring break 2021 70 or 80 million Americans will have completed the two dose regimen of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. I’m less excited about the Astra Zeneca results, but their data were really preliminary. If the Johnson and Johnson vaccine works out according to plan there will be a single dose vaccine available, which will help with less compliant populations. Mexico will regrettably continue to suffer long after Americans are widely vaccinated, but at least we will be able to support the economy down here without risking the spread of infections coming from the US. Peñasco might be looking at Fall before vaccination is widely available.
Idyllwild
There are Americans in town. Not crowded, but some. Max’s was half full this morning, and most people shopping in Super Ley at 10 were gringos.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving !

@Idyllwild
please keep us posted as to your participation in this vaccine trial, the results seem to be very positive, and we look forward to your honest and actual personal experiences. Thank you for participating, for all of us.

You’re welcome.

I don’t expect much to happen until shortly after the review committee meets December 10. When the Pfizer vaccine gets its EUA, probably around December 12 I should be notified whether I’m in the vaccine or placebo group and hopefully offered the vaccine if the latter.
