Car Permit and FM3 ?

I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that if one has an FM3 they can get a car permit for a longer period that without an FM.

Anyone?

Where are you going that you need the permit?

Nuevo Casas Grande, then Chiapas, Cancun Y mas ! I found some information that says the car permit is good as long as the FM3 is good. I hope that's the case.
