And the worst fact is that almost every scheme included a shifty American salesperson that always has a criminal past somewhere back in the USA. They almost always end up first in the Phoenix area, especially Scottsdale, where they set up a new life like a bunch of lurking vultures waiting for the fat old cow to be fed a line of crap and eventually drop dead and no recourse to get the losses back. Once they get run out of Arizona they end up in Rocky Point, San Carlos, San Felipe, Ensenada, etc. where they are safe and untouchable from USA courts and law enforcement.

Well ......in light of the recent “exciting” developments (and it is the middle of the week), are there signs of life at Esmeralda? People working? Has anyone sighted Daniel scurrying from spot to spot or hanging out at “Wrecked at the Reef” getting drunk?
It is all much worse than just the Esmeralda Investors...... NONE of his investors in his deed of trusts or private notes with IPX got paid. We are talking about far more than the 132 Essy folks..... add another 420 ( conservatively) ... it is crazy. And all these people are contacting me for information and help. The stories of who these people are is heartbreaking.... one woman has her mother's money invested and they use that to pay her nursing home bill every month. They locked the offices, took phones "off the hook", sent the few employees he still has home Tuesday morning. There was a line of people at the front door when they opened Tuesday.

I don't even know where to begin with all that is happening up here. And since I have been out there for so long, I am besieged with emails. Everything is much more complicated than just Esmeralda. A group wants to do a road trip to Ajo April 24 for his court appearance for DUI and Drug Possession from arrest on April 3.
Daniel's lawyers sent a threat to me to "cease and desist from making further defamatory posts" on the blog "or from contacting any of" Daniel's "investors, officers, agents, or employees. If the Hydes do not stop, my clients will have no choice but to bring legal action against them for their tortious conduct." Saw that one coming!

Looks like two completely different cases, Jerry. One for 2016, the other coming up on Apr. 24
My guess is he pled the first to reckless (probably blew UNDER the limit). They can still charge DUI even if you blow well under the .08 limit. The courts will plead that to reckless many times because it's much harder to prove true intoxicated driving (drunk driving) if someone blows/blood draws at like .o2 or .04. That's like two beers or glasses of wine with dinner and shouldn't be a DUI.
I'm still willing to bet it cost him plenty in lawyer and fines, but it's a smart move. Why? Doesn't go down as a DUI on your record, otherwise the one he's looking at in Ajo would be a 2nd offense and he'd get some jail time. But two counts of narcotics possession/use ain't gonna help. Don't take it the wrong way, but it kind of makes me feel sorry for him. Maybe the drugs made him not feel so bad about scamming people out of their money. On 2nd thought, naaaah. Fuck him.

Did any of you listen to his show Sunday? Unf'ing believable. 2 hrs of my life I can't get back. But part of my public service duties. The thing about the threat...false light would be the easiest to claim. So I took down the comments section. He can file..doesn't have to have anything that would let him prevail. Are the locals going to get rid of Kiko for spreading the falsehoods about DButt? Remember the ribbon cutting? He told everyone IPX had invested $110 mil in the project. That claim was false. To date IPX has raised less than $40 mil (and that may be stretching the truth) and according to the corp comm charges, IPX has no ownership share in the project. Did Nick provide the $ 70 million??? Because Daniel claims there is only about 35 mil IN EQUITY in the project. Just like my house, it is not cash in my hand until I get an equity loan or sell it. If Kiko was smart, he would try to get out in front of this, admit he was duped, and apologize to the town. I wonder if he will see this? And poor Nick.... speaking of duped ..... I think the answer is no. Sunday's show was the final straw for some of those who really wanted to stick with their golden boy . Investors, especially his inner circle, weren't in the habit of listening in.... and they heard a side of him they had been blind to. I have been inundated with people contacting me to ask what's going on. One of his first and most devoted disciples and I had a long chat. Sunday was it for her. and she so didn't want it to be true. Copied me on a scathing email she sent him... Guys, this woman has been his guest on the radio show 3 times over the years, and she and her mom didn't get paid. Believe me, if she and the Yee's didn't get paid it is pretty likely no one did.
Now, one of the investors got a call today from Daniel. I have my suspicions about why this fella rated the call. And it might be because of the possible fraud surrounding the second position possible deed of trust he was sold on a property. He and I alerted the Corp Comm to this entire new batch of securities I uncovered. IPX wants to cork him up. IPX offered/sold these without divulging the risk, and in this fella's case, didn't even clearly tell him it was 2nd position. The entire deed was executed via email for him. Guys, this man is an immigrant and really has difficulty understanding how things work. Super nice, hard working (as a project cost estimater for Home Depot's flooring and remodel installations), delightful man who gave IPX every penny he had squirreled away in his nest egg.
Most of the investors will weather this, but if he loses his $100,000 in Esmeralda, well..... that's for his children's educations and it's gone. Perhaps you have connections to the Council in Glendale? DB has made mention of having a “go to meeting” with the mayor. It should concern the Glendale leaders that they are posibly exposing themselves to a liability they cannot control. DB remains in control of all his “deeding”. He does like to throw around how he has his “friends in high places”and the “positions of leadership and importance” he holds.

Perhaps you have connections to the Council in Glendale? DB has made mention of having a “go to meeting” with the mayor. It should concern the Glendale leaders that they are posibly exposing themselves to a liability they cannot control. DB remains in control of all his “deeding”. He does like to throw around how he has his “friends in high places”and the “positions of leadership and importance” he holds.

Well, I was down this weekend. There is a huge pile of concrete pilings/castings across the road from the resorts in Sandy Beach and nothing was going anywhere, no activity at all. Granted, it was the weekend. Maybe someone else can comment on during the week.

Just for shits and grins, I did go to the IPX website today. Any reference to Mexico and Esmeralda and all the promises made on the radio has been completely scrubbed. You would never know it even happened, except for what has been documented here. Imagine that!

The property is in a foreign country. The AZ CC is in AZ. The AZ CC couldn't give a ratz azz Gringos, as it is totally run by USA Mexicans. I've been dealing with them on other issues, all a hopeless joke as the minute they realize that you are an English speaking American citizen they put you on the waaaaay back burner. Those are the people who bought units from the very start from the first developer in 2005 and never got their condos built or their money back. They still have ownership rights on those condos... does that help?
We have a friend who put money down in 2005-2006 for Esmeralda. We didn't know she was doing it, otherwise, we may have warned her to only purchase on built condos.

That is an issue ignored by AMPi and Realtors here. They usually grab the commission from the first money to pass. If the sale is never completed they do not reimburse the commission. Remember the ownership of the property does not pass hands from the seller to the buyer until the ownership papers (Bank Trust) are issued in the name of the buyer. No self respecting realtor will wait a year to collect their money. Never mind there was actually no sale completed.
The Cholla Bay HOA has a lien against the Esmerelda to ensure that water and sewer for Cholla are completed, since the Esmerelda was sold, what happened to the lien the Cholla Bay HOA had?
Oh and I'm not holding my breath for the utilities to be completed,

The water is a major issue because since early March the water fill station in Cholla has been dry starting Thurs afternoon.
When I left early Sat. morning one of the drivers slept there waiting for it to start flowing, it wasn't and there was a long list of people needing water.
Had the displeasure of meeting Daniel Butterfield on 4/15/18 at Colin's Cantina. It was just after 3pm and DB was s*itfaced. After about an hour of being insulted by his drunken remarks (can't tell you how many times he called us stupid not to mention the Fbombs) we left rather than get into a physical confrontation with him. Oh we saw him around 8pm, shocked he was still standing, again I thought a fight was upon us after getting stared down by him.
I learned the next day, a phone call was made and "Steve" showed up to escort him out of the restaurant. I also found out this was not his only drunken tirade at Colins. In fact the last time this happen the Puerto Penasco police were called to remove him.
After asking more questions, I put two and two together and realized exactly who this idiot was.
What a great individual DB is....a drunken DUI drug taken s*it talking scam artist.

We walked into Colins sat down at the bar and had never met the guy before.
He basically started in right away with us. We did try to engage in a civil conversation with him but it turned quickly to his insults towards us. We then tried to ignore him which also did not work but as my friend said....I have never met a stranger I did not like until now.
He was rude, verbally abused and honestly just an ass.
He was there with his "girlfriend" and I was told the little girl who appeared to be about 3 years old was her child.
His actions were completely unprovoked. At one point he started counting outloud.....as he put it at all the stupid people he saw while staring right at us.
Oh and he grabbed the tip jar and was taking money out of it until one of the female employees took it from him and emptied it.
Like I said before we were getting off the elevator and there he was. He followed us in the parking lot and again stared at us like he was mad dogging us..
He is a total idiot.
