I'm here already, do I count... on another note... is anyone coming down for Halloween?
if so, bring your kids (or adults are encouraged to act like one) we usually have a party at our house to give out candy to the kids... we also play games like pin the tail on the burro...
there will be hot dogs and soda for the kids and a keg of beer for the adults...
so if you're planning on coming down for Halloween we'd love to have ya join us... :sunny:
costumes are suggested but not manditory (kenny your fish scaring costume is banned) :-o
I like to come, what do you think Joe and Kenny would do?
I'd just call that new lady friend of yours, fatboyharley. I'd tell her to look for the guy with his tail between his legs, and his foot in his mouth.:p
Kenny I don't remember who did last year but it was great. They had a great open spot by their trailer. Think we could all do it there ?
That's Chucks place Bill, and as far as I know that's the plan for this year too. Chuck's been having a get together every year for some time now. If you look back there are some pictures posted from last year.
Kenny
Kenny, Bill I moved my trailer to the south wall. I think we'll have enough room. I'm thinking about just roasting a big bird and leaving the fryer at home.
Potluck style, is the way to go, there will be enough to go around a few times even with only one birdie!! Chuck is not there enough space on the back? between the trailers and the wall

I'm next door to Chuck....and depending on whether my friend Rosemary comes down, we might have access to her covered patio area a couple of spaces over. However, I won't be down until late Thanksgiving day (like after 9pm....) if someone wanted to do it on Friday....
The park usually pretty empty. I'm not worried about space. My neighbors have parties in the driveway all the time. As long as you can drive by we'll be ok.

Chuck I can bring a smoked bird... and Barb says she'll whip up a big batch of smashed tatters
Jim, propane or electric? I have an electric fryer but I'm in a 30 amp spot with a 50 amp trailer. Last year I kept blowing the breaker with the fryer.
Mark, a second smoked bird wold be great.
Last year with the children we had about twenty three people. I only had four family members and this year I'll have over ten.
As always, I will be making the stuffing, and no it does not come out of a box it is made from scratch with real food in it!! and I am sure that Alicia will come up with some concoction!!!
Tequila donation will be accepted while cooking!!! don't be shy :eek3:
Edna will make a batch of fresh cooked cranberries. No caned.
We will aso get some cookies etc from the panaderia for all of the kids big and small.
Two of us possibly more

Barb said she will bake some cupcakes as well... if I can find sweet potatoes down here (fresh not canned) I'll cook them with coconut, raisins and those little marshmellows... mmmm yummy yams...
Jim, the peanut oil is around $50.00 because one jug is not enough. Val has a new roaster that cooked a great turkey last month. I should be able to cook one 22 pound bird in it rather than two 10 pounders in the fryer.
I wouldn't know about that Chuck... we've been doing T-Day at our house for our friends for the past 10 or more years and I've only noticed... There's never any bird left over...
Jerry, are you bringing the weed again this year? I've never hear it called Peanut Oil though??!?!AZ's got the anti Obama posters covered and I hear there will be a protest march all the way to the Malecon!!
Sadly I'm not going to make the big party. I can't keep my Kevlar buttoned after a big meal.
Thanks to the presidents new health plan you will all be doing an hour of forced exercise and paying a tax on each piece of the pumpkin pie that weighs more than 3 oz....enjoy

It looks like we can add another neighbor with a patio over her trailer. Maybe by turkey day we'll have the whole back end of the trailer park.
Chuck what about plates and utencils? should I carve the bird at home or leave it to be carved down there? :chef: so much to do... busy... busy... busy...
Just for the record.. Chuck and I have been having Thanksgiving together, for what CHuck, the last four years? Wow, yep four years, I think.
Kenny this will make four years. It seems to get bigger and better every year.
Seadweller,
Chuck what about plates and utencils? should I carve the bird at home or leave it to be carved down there? :chef: so much to do... busy... busy... busy...
I think Bill Hale brought the paper plates last year. I have some plastic utencils, I won't know until later if I have enough. I will have 3 or 4 six foot plastic tables. I'm sure we'll need more this year. People will need to bring their own chairs. Mark, you can carve the bird at home or my place.
I'm felling hungry...
Chuck, should I bring back that carving knife you threw at me last year?:o I found it in the Jeep when I got home, and I've only used it once since.:-P

was it an electric knife? I can't find mine...:eek3:
Don't you just love it when things come together. Bring BEER, food, BOOZ, chairs and a happy face. Shade if you have one ! It was warm for a while last year but only before a few beers.
How about on an update on who is bringing what. Put it on an Excel work sheet attachment and it can be revised by anyone as they add stuff.
If anyone is planning on deep frying some turkeys (or even hams), Peanut Oil at Sams Club is $33.88 for a 35 lb. container(about 5 gal). I recall last year paying somewhere around $54.
Previous years, I've filtered the oil and was able to reuse it on Christmas for more deep frying.
I have had problems deep fying because I tend to blow 30 amp breakers. Last year I plugged into a empty spot and still blew the breaker. As far as Jim's propane set up, I haven't down propane in years.
I have a nice, big electric roaster that cooks a very juicy turkey.
I still have three more trips down before turkey day!
In San Juan trailer park I had a true 50 amp spot. It was beautiful I could run what ever I wanted. In San Rafael I have a 30 amp spot with a 50 amp breaker. I really don't want to start a fire. I have two A/C units and a washer, dryer, oven, water heater and all the little things on my electric supply. I don't have anything on propane.

Sea, Halloween is the day of the cancer walk in town to raise funds for the hospice. If people can't make the walk, they can still donate....
hey now -
Teri and I are confirmed -looking forward to seeing everyone again!
we brought the heavy plates last year - can do that again.
can also bring heavy plastic knives and forks - just say so!
seems like my pico de gallo was a bit wimpy for everyone last year - so I'll skip that. thinking of a new batch of margs to bring - not sure which flavor - I think last year it was pomegranite.....
we'll be bringing a friend along - Michele - she'll fit right in!
what else can we bring?
Joe,
I still have a football platter from last year?
We have two turkeys.
two dozen tamales
some sweets
Inka stuffing

that football tray may be Teri's - we'll load it up again with snacks.
we'll see how the menu shapes up and find other goodies to add.
looks like the party is growing :chef:
Chuck,
I have a rickety table, 4 chairs, an EZ Up and a big umbrella and maybe more by then. I had already said I would bring my potatoes unless you want me to bring something else.......Let me know.
Chari
I have the eating utensils, and lots of heavy-duty plates already packed - will bring a nice batch of guacamole and chips. undecided about the flavor of margaritas yet, the pomegranite was tasty....
Right now we have my trailer space, some of RPJoes and maybe a third beach front spot all in a row. I have another space with a covered patio and a patio above the trailer. It look like it's all coming together:cheers:
