Even though it's not as inexpensive as a lot of others and the restaurant is small inside, KAFEE HAUS! check out their trip advisor reviews. they definitely use quality ingredients, I get a special made omelet every time they can put whatever you want. my fiance gets chorizo or a Ranchero style shredded beef and he says it's delicious, you can check out their website ahead of time and even view their menu. It will come up on a Google search even spelling it "coffee house" as long as you type Puerto Peñasco, Mexico.YUM Im hungry now!
I did see a good special at Latitudes I believe its Monday through Friday for the typical American breakfast items. they had that on their website to check out also.
Balboa's is another good place for breakfast. Good food & reasonably priced with a quiet atmosphere. We ate on their outdoor patio overlooking the harbor with all the ships & activities. Very enjoyable.

My favorite meal in Rocky Point is breakfast. There are so many places that are good and different. Lolita's is excellent and cheap if you just want chorizo and eggs or machaca and eggs. They serve it with french fries and some beans and a big basket of tortillas. LaCurva is delicous, but more pricy. I get the seafood omelet. Rosie's huevos rancheros are different but delicious. Rosie's has the best salsa. If you want American, Max's cafe is the place.
Chilaquilies at Colin's Cantina at the Princesa...
Kaffee Haus also gets a vote! I had the bacon/eggs/pancakes combo yesterday and it was excellent! 3 of us had big brunch sized breakfasts (2 with coffee and 1 with orange juice) and the bill was $340 pesos.
I usually do not make recommendations in fear that a favorite place of mine will get busy. I will however recommend Xochtl's in Cholla Bay for a great inexpensive breakfast.
Actually, I've never found "true" huevos rancheros" in Puerto Penasco. The closest I've found is "divorced eggs" or huevos divorciados. Typically, one egg is covered in salsa roja, while the other is covered in salsa verde. Sadly, this is NOT the same as red and green chile. :( So, as a Southern New Mexican I always take some frozen.

Good on you, I agree cannot beat New Mexican food. BTW I found Hatch green chiles in the can at the Michigan Market just off BJ near ity hall.
Thats a new place I didnt know about. What all is in the Michigan market?
On the left side, corner, just past the city hall next to the bank. Small family run store. They have a selection of stuff hard to find here, chopped prepared garlic, spices .

Lol, Michigan Market has saved many a meal missing an ingredient. And for quick, inexpensive, ready to go burros and doughnut i still like to hit up 8-12.
We decided to try Las Olas (very small hotel with restaurant, the one when you're coming into town , same side of the main street as Pollo Lucas but a few miles before with the picture of the wave on it) it was a pleasant surprise. Very clean very reasonably priced , had American type breakfast but kept the Mexican flavor & feel, had Mexican breakfast lots of good selection, I love finding hidden gems (it's not really hidden but not as well known as I think it should be)
We had one plate with eggs mixed w/ chorizo (each breakfast includes trimmings of beans, potatoes, and tortillas , delicious tortillas) that was enough for both my little girls to share and be very full, I had the plate with Eggs Divorciados with the red & green sauce & cheese over corn tortilla, with the trimmings, and a side of bacon. My hubby had shredded meat with eggs and the trimmings with a soda and the total before tip was.... $18!

I eat there all the time for breakfast. It's near my house and always clean, inexpensive, and very friendly. Next door used to be a "chucky cheese" type place where kids could play games for tickets, and upstairs, adults could drink and play darts and pool. That part is gone, but Las Olas is worth a stop.
I'll stick with Max's Café across from Peñasco del Sol for the bloody mary. Their hangover burrito is good. All their food is good. :)
We had breakfast at Max's Cafe, and everything was really good. Both Mexican and American style breakfasts were delicious, and the refried beans are excellent!

+1, good food and service. Eating there tomorrow or Friday.
CAPONES!!!! Started serving breakfast this year... it is fantastic and not expensive. They make about 8 different Eggs Benedicts ($7) and some great versions of classic breakfasts. Try the Drunken Donuts or Gran Marnier Waffles if you are a carb addict.... very very good!
I hear Cholla Bay has a new oyster bar up the road from JJ's.
YEs! and it is awesome! We love it!!! Open Fri, Sat and Sun evenings.... closing for summer at some point. Get there so you can try it out. Currently it is BYOB as the liquor license isn't in yet... which is great. Bring a nice CA Chardonnay and enjoy the seafood!!!

Max's had the worst, I mean worst Eggs Benedict I have ever had. Overdone eggs, a few paltry potatoes, and a sliver of cantelope. Inside, the place had a lousy atmosphere, and the girls were less than attentive. There are other places in town that make a great Eggs Benedict, so give Max's a big miss, as far as I am concerned.
This last trip I can recommend 2 more places for breakfast, if you get Lattitudes Breakfast, the red sauce they put on the breakfast potatoes is delicious! I ask for extra to be poured on and yum yum yum, they always do the Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids which is nice & fun, both their green & red salsa is good authentic Mexican salsa too. It's always fun to see what his wife has added to the shop below.
Finally tried Rosy's and was quite impressed , good priced authentic Mexican food.
Now we have 4 favorite breakfast places, all of them are delicious & different so it's so cool to make sure we get to them....hopefully we can stay long enough to get to them a couple times each

Is the Oyster bar in Cholla Bay open this month? If so what days, times? Actually prefer bring your own drinks so wondering if that too is still the case. Thanks so much!

Any updates on this oyster bar? Is it still only open on the weekend? Serving alcohol yet? Wife and I will be coming down soon and would like to check it out. Thanks for any info in advance.
